A Call to Prepare

“The day will come, says the Lord, when I will do for [Malawi] all the good things I have promised them.” From Jeremiah 33:14; I inserted Malawi in the place of Israel and Judah.

In 2009, Jesus gave us a vision that the Grace Center would be an epicenter for a movement of His Spirit to bring healing to Africa.

On Friday, I spoke with Pastor Phiri. He was at the funeral of a child. My heart raged in protest at the death of another child. Why do children have to die from hunger and from simple illnesses that could be prevented when Jesus has promised healing is coming to Africa. How long must we wait?

I’m asking you today as you prepare your home for the holidays, as you prepare your gifts for your family, as you prepare your heart for the celebration of Jesus’ birth, will you join us in praying for the Advent of a fresh movement of the Holy Spirit bringing healing to Africa? I’ve been praying the following prayer over Malawi, the Grace Center, and the children for the past several weeks. Please join me in prayer.

Holy Spirit, call us to prayer. Call us to seek Your face and to cry out to You for Malawi. Fulfill Your promise, Lord Jesus. Release the movement of Your Spirit to bring healing to Africa. Release healing and restoration of the land during this growing season. Break the chains of hunger, starvation, disease and poverty. Open the blind eyes of the community; tear off the scales of ignorance that Satan has used to keep us in bondage for so long. Open our eyes to see the resources You have placed at our fingertips. Bring down the oppressors of corruption, inflation, poverty, starvation, leached soils. Set Your people free, Jesus. I declare over the Grace Center, Malawi and Africa that this is the time of the Lord’s favor. Set us apart as Your holy people, Lord Jesus. Watch over the children and Pastor Phiri. They are dear to Your heart. You have chosen them as Your beloved and favored ones. From Your glorious, unlimited resources, empower Your Bride, the Grace Alliance Church with inner strength through Your Spirit. Make Your home in her heart as she trusts in You. Enable her roots to go down deep into Your love. Keep her strong, steady and supported by Your love. May she experience the extravagant generosity of Your perfect love poured out through her. Make her complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You. Awaken love in Your Bride today. Awaken love by pouring Your love into her. Fulfill the promise that You made to us. These are Your plans; You will fulfill them, to the glory of God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
